SEPTEMBER 2026 is here, and the Get a Bigger Wagon Young Entrepreneur Awards (GABWYEA) competition is underway.
We’re excited to welcome young entrepreneurs to our ninth GABWYEA competition. This year, we received many requests for application forms in August. We’re excited to hear from applicants early because it gives us time to answer questions and discuss details.

In the photo, Gord is straddling his brand-new S90 motorcycle, which his 14-year-old friend, the local Honda dealer, sold him. Gord learned a lot from this friend. He also learned from his father, who is sitting on the motorcycle too. In the book titled Get an Even Bigger Wagon, this story is titled “Driving Underage”. It is one of Maureen’s favourite business stories. This friend didn’t realize the impact he had on Gord until they told him years later. Peers can be mentors.
