Description

This sauce is best served on a slightly tarte pudding or crisp. It goes particularly well with Steamed Cranberry Pudding or Cranberry Apple Crisp.

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons flour

1 cup evaporated skim milk

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Melt butter in a saucepan. Mix in the flour.

Gradually stir in milk. Heat and stir until the mixture boils and thickens.

Add sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir until sugar dissolves.

This recipe makes 2 cups of delightfully creamy sauce.

Notes

Try this sauce on Steamed Cranberry Pudding. Your tastebuds will thrill to the tang of cranberries buried in moist cakiness; all topped with the creamy comfort of rich vanilla. I froze the leftovers already covered in sauce. I enjoyed every morsel right from the freezer. Shhh. My secret.
