The Eighth Annual Get a Bigger Wagon Young Entrepreneur Awards: Celebrating the 2025 Competition
Gord and Maureen Haddock are excited to share the video of our Eighth Annual Get a Bigger Wagon Young Entrepreneur Awards. Our 2025 award winners are talented, confident, and inspiring young people. They listened attentively to our guest speaker, Monique Simair, who talked about curiosity, grit, and hope. Monique is a scientist-turned-entrepreneur, and she tells her story well. The young entrepreneurs waiting to receive their cash dialled into her message and had questions after the event.
The Haddocks were delighted that news of Monique’s appointment as leader of the Slogotski Hunt Centre for Entrepreneurship at USask was first announced at this event. Enjoy the video!

The Haddocks are pleased to present the second annual GABWYEA presentations. Each of the entrants demonstrated an ability to grow, change, and never give up. Three of our winners returned after last year with improved or new businesses. When a young competitor gets an idea from our speaker or while talking to a fellow competitor everyone involved in this program is pleased.
This year’s Haddock Entrepreneurial Speaker was Jana Danielson of Lead Pilates and Fitness Centre. Nine-year-old McKayla KInnaird felt relieved when Jana suggested that it’s ok to change directions, professions, and interests as you get older.
Young Entrepreneur Awards 2018
The Haddocks are delighted to share the video of our first Get a Bigger Wagon Young Entrepreneur Awards. The presentation was part of the 12th event in our Haddock Entrepreneurial Speaker Series, which is presented, annually, at the Edwards School of Business. Our speaker, Mr. Duane Smith, began by sharing the story of his childhood chicken business and continued by sharing lessons learned through a successful entrepreneurial life. Definitely, his talk provided something for everyone.
There was magic in having seasoned entrepreneurs sharing the theatre with young entrepreneurs.
